In the basic bandsaw class, we learned how to operate and maintain the saw, re-sawing techniques and how to cut complex curves. All of these skills were taught in the context of creating a box from a solid block of wood. The majority of the cuts in the bandsaw box are made in a single plane. It’s time to move on to the next step. In BT2, we will make simple kitchen implements that require cutting curves in two different planes of the wood. The result will be stylish and useful implements with a variety of complex curves. Through these simple projects, you’ll begin to more fully appreciate the creative possibilities of a bandsaw.
