Intro to the Lathe 2.0 : Lidded Boxes

lidded boxes

Small lidded boxes, made from a single piece of interesting wood, make wonderful gifts with a personal touch.  Learn how to design and turn a lidded box to show off the wood and show off your workmanship.   Mounting the wood for turning is half the battle.  Learn ways to mount the wood so you can turn and finish both inside and outside of the top and bottom of your box. Add a special touch to your turning with decorations such as gilding or include art glass or semiprecious stones. This class is a great follow up from our Intro to the Lathe and a great prep class before Beginning Bowl Turning!!
