This class is a continuation of Japanese Woodworking 101 and focuses on the use of Japanese hand tools for joinery. Each student will make small model of a 12 inch Tori Gate using 1 1/2 ” x 1 1/2″ poplar by making two dovetail joints, two lap joints and two mortise and tenons using Japanese tools. The classes are held on a Saturday and Sunday from 10 am – 5 pm each day with a lunch break. Please bring a notebook and pencil/pen to take notes.
IMPORTANT: This class is recommended as a prerequisite for Japanese Woodworking 201 and Furniture 201.
