Have you ever wondered why wood can move or twist after cutting it or which woods are best suited for constructing a table, shelves or another project? In this class, you will learn about the mysteries of this fascinating material so indispensable and integral to the human race and how to “read” wood increasing your likelihood of success in working with it. Topics will include: Process of turning a tree from the forest into wood for projects / How wood is cut and milled / Wood types and characteristics/ Differences between domestic and exotic woods/ which woods are best for indoor use and /or outdoor usage.
