This is a 6-week after school course designed to give elementary and middle school aged students a solid foundation in woodworking techniques. Class will meet every Monday from 4pm-6pm from November 30th through January 4th.

Students will predominantly use hand tools for safe construction with the exception of battery powered hand drills and both manual and plug-in random orbital Festool sanders. All power tool preparation of materials will be done outside of class time to ensure safety of students. Tools used in class include: hammer, drill, screwdriver, pull and coping saws, ruler, tape measure, pliers, clamps, smoothing plane, sandpaper.

All materials for these projects are included in the cost of the class, as well as a woodworking starting kit. The kit consists of a work apron, safety glasses, ear plugs, a pica pencil, tape measure and stainless steel ruler, everything needed to get these students ready to start making!

Parents are encouraged, but not required, to sit in on each class. However, we do ask that at least one parent per class remains present during class time to help supervise.
