Come use our state-of-the-art woodworking facility! Our shop is home to two 5-horsepower Sawstop table saws, both 8″ and 16″ Powermatic jointers and a 22″ Powermatic planer, all outfitted with Byrd Tool helical cutter heads (once you’ve had helical, you never go back!). Keeping those fine tools company are a 5-horsepower 18″ Powermatic band-saw, a Laguna 1412 band saw, an Iconic 3HP DeWalt GA radial arm saw, three specialized sanding machines, two router tables, Festool machines, an array of hand tools, large work benches and many, many clamps (you can never have too many).

Shop time is available in 3-hr blocks and allows access to the tools in the woodshop, but does not include any materials. There will be a shop monitor available to answer questions and monitor safety in the shop, as well as ensure that everyone gets access to power tools that may be in high demand. We’re hoping Open Shop Hours will come close to what membership used to be but with better regulation to accommodate for social distancing measures and equipment maintenance.

Prerequisites:
To be eligible for open shop time, you must have taken at least one woodshop based class with us before (Fundamentals of Woodworking, Box Making 101 or Resin Art: Using Ecopoxy with Live Edge Materials). If you haven’t taken a class with us, please do so before registering for open shop time (see the full list of available classes here). All open shop participants must watch our shop safety video onsite prior to their first open shop session. Please email info@woodworkersclub.com to talk about your availability to come in and watch the safety video.

** The ONLY wood allowed to be machined in the shop is lumber from Woodcraft of Rockville to insure the safety and quality of the machines.**
